Innovative Design
From its dynamic, radical styling to its aggressive, purposeful stance, the Civic truly is groundbreaking. The tapered spoiler set into the curved rear windscreen improves aerodynamics, and the high brake light mounted into the spoiler improves visibility. And for extra practicality, a second, lower rear window beneath the spoiler enhances visibility when parking.
To form an instant connection between driver and car, we created the Dual Zone driver's environment. This puts all the information you need right where you need it - from average speed and fuel consumption right in front of you, to climate control in your peripheral vision.
Performance
With the Civic, we pushed our world leading engine technology to the limit and produced three powerful, economic and refined options:
A new generation 1.8 i–VTEC engine
With electronically controlled intelligent valve timing, it’s like two engines in one. This means it delivers a performance equivalent to a powerful 2.0 and better fuel efficiency than a 1.6 engine.
i–CTDi — a lightweight 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine.
Made in a revolutionary casting process that gives it unparalleled stiffness and strength, the i–CTDi is one of the quietest and most refined diesel engines available. Not only that, it’s one of the cleanest too.
1.4 i–DSI engine
The i–DSI’s dual sequential ignition burns fuel sparingly, giving it the economy of a smaller engine, whilst still producing outstanding levels of power and torque.
Versatility
The Civic challenges expectations in every way. You wouldn’t think it could take a full size bicycle from the kerbside, but it can. The doors open an almost full 90 degrees for easy access. And the rear Magic Seats don’t just fold flat to accommodate cargo, they also flip up like cinema seats to allow tall and awkward shapes to be stowed easily.
The total boot area gives you a huge 415 litres of space. An additional space offering a further 70 litres is found in a concealed lower storage area — perfect for storing valuable items.
