Picanto Wins Prestigious Design Award

Mere months after its launch, the sporty new Kia Picanto 3-door has been given the coveted iF product design award 2012. The accolade recognises such qualities as design, workmanship, innovation and eco-friendliness.

The commendation is Kia’s fourth iF product design award in three years, previous prizes having been given to the Venga, Sportage and Optima. The firm’s chief design officer, Peter Schreyer said,

“Receiving the iF product design award for the new Kia Picanto is a great success for our design team and it is welcome recognition of our brand’s design-oriented strategy. The second generation Picanto displays a very purposeful, self-assured design, and its sportiness is particularly underscored by the three-door version.”

Boasting dynamic exterior styling and a high quality interior, the new Kia Picanto is aimed at consumers who are looking to downsize to a smaller car. The model is available with two efficient petrol engines that deliver low CO2 emissions, and Kia’s seven year/100,000 mile warranty is included.

This is the first time the Picanto has been offered as a 3-door model and 45% of sales in the UK are expected to be the 3-door version.

The new Kia Picanto is now available from your local Phoenix Cars dealer.
