Mazda's radical new SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY encompasses the whole car, through the intelligent application of advanced engine, transmission, body and chassis technology and lightweight engineering. Mazda's breakthrough SKYACTIV Technologies deliver uncompromised driving pleasure and class-leading environmental and safety performance.

The engine line-up for the Mazda CX-5 will boast Mazda's all-new SKYACTIV-G 2.0 petrol engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine. Each engine has a record-breaking compression ratio of 14:1 which improves efficiency and helps achieve exceptional environmental performance for a compact SUV. Target CO₂ emissions are less than 120g/km for the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 engined model*
