Honda has bucked the downward sales trend in America. As American car makers confirmed an 18.8% fall in year-on-year sales, Honda sales in the States were up a whopping 13.8%.

Not surprisingly, all manufacturers are blaming the rising cost of petrol for the sales slump, with large high consumption vehicles that have traditionally been popular in America suffering the most dramatic losses.
