Phoenix Honda beat off stiff competition to scoop the Sales Team of the Year honour at the 2010 Industry Awards, staged by respected magazine Motor Trader.
And in a double whammy Mark Murphy from our Honda Glasgow dealership was voted Sales Manager of the Year at the same event.
The judges were looking for a team which had excelled in challenging conditions and delivered profitable long-term business. They wanted to see clear evidence of innovative sales programmes and genuine teamwork, and were hugely impressed with Phoenix Honda’s achievements.
“The sales team all showed themselves to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a deep understanding of the wants and needs of individual customers,” said Motor Trader Awards editor Curtis Hutchinson.
The sales team helped grow Phoenix Honda sales by 5.8 per cent in a challenging year and achieve impressive CSI ratings making this one of the most impressive sites in the carmaker’s UK network.
This award acknowledges the crucial role played by a sales manager. The judges were seeking someone who had motivated their team, implemented and led successful sales programmes and excelled in customer satisfaction and retention.
Mark Murphy joined the Hyndland business from the Paisley site in 2008 and has helped turn around the sales operation. “He has successfully imported many of the group’s best practices into the business. His professionalism and the subsequent upturn in business impressed Motor Trader’s panel of judges,” said editor Curtis Hutchinson.
The winners were announced earlier this month at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Mayfair.
